In FS2, we also introduce children to the exciting world of phonics. Through interactive and engaging activities, children learn the fundamental building blocks of reading and writing. They develop their phonemic awareness, learning to recognize and manipulate individual sounds in words.
Phonics instruction in FS2 helps children develop their decoding skills, enabling them to sound out and read words with confidence. They also learn phonics rules and patterns, which further enhance their reading and spelling abilities.
By incorporating phonics into our curriculum, we provide children with a strong foundation in literacy, empowering them to become proficient readers and writers. This essential skill set opens up a world of possibilities, fostering a lifelong love for learning and exploration.
FS2 – Programme Outline
- Twice-daily small group sessions for literacy and problem-solving skills
- Preparation for kindergarten and future academic success
- Whole-group activities to develop social skills
- Development of a stronger vocabulary through letters and words
- Independent, creative learning through hands-on experiences
- Age Group: 4 years – 5 years
- Class Ratio: 1:10 children
- Attendance: 3, 5 days / week
- Timings: 7:30/8am to 12:30pm / 2pm / 6pm
- Enrichment: Arabic, French, Cooking, Ball skills, Kinder Gym, Outdoor, Water play
